8th Grade Information

Spirit Week: April 27th- May 1st   

• Students will be able to participate in Spirit Dress Up Days for the week.
• On Friday, All 8th Graders will wear WHITE to show their Grade Level Spirit.
• Games and Activities will be played throughout the week- Stay tuned!

8th Grade Dance: Friday, May 1st (6:30 pm - 9:30 pm): Cafeteria    

• Tickets $40 Each.
• Includes Dinner, DJ, Photo Booth and more!
• Theme voted on in January.
• Tickets On Sale March 24th - April 10th 
• No Out-of-School Suspensions during 4th Quarter.
• Participation of students who receive a referral/ISS will be at the discretion of Administration.
• Deadline for ticket sales is APRIL 10th.

***Dance may be canceled if minimum participation is not met.***

Stallion Scholar Night of Distinction*
May 21st (6:00 pm): L.C. Swain Gymnasium

***STUDENTS MUST ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 5:45 pm.***

• Students who are receiving an award will receive an invite in April.
• Student Attire: Appropriate Professional Attire in White, Black, and/or White & Black Shirt, Pants, Skirt or Dress.
• Each student who is receiving an award will receive 3 tickets to the Awards Night.
  • All guests must have a ticket, this includes children.
• Additional ticket requests will be accepted, but are not guaranteed.

* Participation in this event is by Invite Only - Students who are receiving an award will receive an invitation with more information in April.

Stallion Yearbook Ad Grad Gram - $10
Celebrate your 8th Grader with a personalized Stallion Grad Gram in the Yearbook.

• Submit your Yearbook Ad Grad Gram personalized message.
• Pay $10 Online or in the 8th Grade Office.
• Deadline for Yearbook Ad Grad Grams is March 6th.

Universal Gradventure End-of-the-Year Trip: Friday, May 15th (1:00 pm - 4:00 am): Orlando, FL    

• Tickets $230 Each. (Half of the seats are taken already!)
• Permission Slip and 1st Payment ($80- Non Refundable) must be turned in to hold a seat. 
  • Must be on track for promotion.
  • No more than 2 (total) referrals during 3rd & 4th 9 weeks (NO Severe Infractions).
  • No out-of-school Suspensions during 3rd or 4th 9 weeks.
  • No outstanding debt owed to the school.
  • Participation of students who receive a referral/ISS will be at the discretion of Administration.
  • Students with a history of tardies, missing id, dress code, referrals/suspensions may not be allowed to attend.
• Final Payments due by April 3rd. 
• If you need an extension on payments, please contact Mrs. Dedrick.
• All students participating MUST attend the Gradventure meeting in May.

Class T-Shirt - $15

• Price of the shirt is already included in the Gradventure price.
• We will choose our class shirt in April.
• Shirts may be purchased separately (for students not attending Gradventure).
  • Order Forms will be distributed in mid April.
  • Front of Shirt chosen by students, ALL student names will be listed on the back.
  • May be worn to school.
• Shirts will not be available for purchase after the final order date.

8th Grade Spirit Days: May 22th - May 29th: L.C. Swain Middle School

• Bracelet to dress down ALL WEEK if you …. Donate your school shirts/pants & shorts/sweatshirts/P.E. uniforms/Academy Uniforms/Backpacks.

Yearbook - On Sale Now!

• $35 from January - March 2026: Pay online through March 31st by visiting jostensyearbooks.com. You may also submit cash to Mrs. Moschetti in the Media Center.
• $40 AFTER March 31st: Cash ONLY to Mrs. Moschetti in the Media Center.
