Dress Code

TOPS - Must be purchased at L.C. Swain Middle School

• L.C. Swain school shirts in green, yellow,white, black or Dri-fit (black only)
• L. C. Swain Club or Athletic sponsored t-shirts (approved by Admin)
• PE shirts may ONLY be worn during the PE class period.
• NO writing, pictures, or designs
• NO alcoholic/drug/gang symbols

Bottoms

• Pants/Capris must be Docker style
• Shorts/Skirts must be knee length
• Sweatpants
• All above items must be SOLID COLORS ONLY in khaki, gray, black, navy blue, or olive green.
• Pants/shorts must be worn at the waist.
• Students should wear a belt, if needed.
• NO variation in colors
• NO jeans, except black jeans
• NO camouflage, white or neon
• NO basketball shorts
• NO leggings, jeggings or yoga style pants or shorts
• NO prints or plaids
• NO writing, pictures, or designs
• NO holes, cut-outs, or shredded material

Shoes

• Closed toe shoes with closed backs
• NO Crocs
• NO Sandals
• NO Slides
• NO Flip-Flops
• NO Slippers
• NO High Heels

Bags

• ONLY clear or mesh backpacks are permitted.
• Athletic bags must be dropped off to coach’s classroom before Period 1.
• NO solid fabric backpacks or bags

Jackets

• Sweater, jackets, zip-hoodies may be worn as needed; however, clothing underneath must adhere to dress code
• policy and must be visible at ALL times.
• Jackets must remain unzipped and hoods off for student identification.
• Pullover-hoodies may be worn ONLY if it is an LC Swain purchased pullover-hoodie.
• NO hoods on head
• NO blankets
• NO stuffed animals

Student ID's

• School issued ID and lanyard MUST be worn at all times and be visible around the student’s neck.
• Student must purchase replacement ID if original is lost/stolen/broken.

Electronic Devices / Accessories

• Cell phones, Air Pods, earbuds, headphones and smart watches should NOT be visible or in use during school hours.
• All items must be stored in student backpack or designated storage areas within the classroom.
• NO hats, bandanas, or other headwear
• NO grills
• NO wireless speakers

Beverage Containers

• MUST have a secure top
• MUST be leakproof
• MUST be stored in backpack
• NO straw
• NO handle
• NOT visible in hallways
